V8 fun & snow tires

For now I only have all seasons on my V8. I stopped dead on a steep
hill this morning with two inches of snow, and a crisp icy film over the
snow, dropped it into first (auto), and punched it. It spun a bit, and
I wrenched the wheel sharp right, then back left, and got the rear to
kick out pretty good, but when I straightened the wheel, and kept the
gas floored, it pulled itself right out of the slide, and went up the
hill pretty good. The all seasons don't show too much need for snows,
plus their good for getting it sideways.
Seems like it couldn't have just been Monday night, when a friend
was over, and he wanted a tour of the V8. I took it on a 3/4 mile or so
stretch of 1.5 lane road. A bit bumpy, and tons of sand on the road,
but it had no problem reaching 120 mph before I had to slow down for the
curves. It had a lot more in her. When I pulled 110 in my 1986 Golf, I
thought I was going to bounce off the road. The V8 was so smooth, but
did get all four wheels in the air on decent (around 105). It was
pretty funny, because as we hit the ground, I was breaking, and a loud
chirp, and a little cloud of smoke left the rear of the car. Anyway,
what a smooth car.
