Rumour about TT...

Hi!

A colleague left for his vacation today and he's off to a neighbouring
country. Last time he went he was going on about Audi test driving the
TT in the deserts up there. Had a stream of 10 or so fast moving TTs
nail past him. He seems to know someone in the VW/Audi workshop where
some of the test vehicles sit and the rumour is Audi are busy testing a
twin-engined version of the thing. Much like that A-class Merc with the
2 engines that one can apparently buy these days.

Something about the thing currently being called the "TT Unknown".

I do understand Mercedes also use the deserts up there and also do runs
here in South Africa for testing their new cars. I believe this was the
case with the V6 SLK. I spotted a few of these being fettled with at a
service station, they had no markings and the twin-tailpipes had my
brain churning over about what was under the hood. The fat aerial on the
dash hooked up to a laptop on the passenger's side of the SLK gave away
the plot. Many months later did I learn they might've been the V6.

Cool *rumour* in my books. :)
