Probably a combination of the rubber compound in the tread, and the siping.
Run the flat of your hand over the tread at the top of the tire, from front
to back. The sipes should grab at your skin. Now do it the other way, back
to front. Should be different, not grabbing.
Try some different pressures.....might be some pressure that improves the
grab on corners. If it is a 44 psi max, I'd stay above 28 minimum cold. You
didn't say what speed rating they have......"Q" ?

Ouch. So we finally get some snow and my 4kq with new Falcon Eurowinter
snows (hey,
they were $46 a piece and have a very similar tread pattern to the hakka 10s)
handles like crap! ............I slide and slip. There is
a lot of skidding when I try to hammer it up a snowy hill as well..what's up
with this? Car has had a recent alignment and these tires and brand new!
Please advise, any suggestions appreciated.
