Correction:   Probably a combination of the rubber compound in the tread, 
and the siping. Run the flat of your hand over the tread at the top of the 
tire, from front to back (wrong! make that back to front, please). The 
sipes should grab at your skin. Now do it the other way, back to front 
(wrong! make that front to back). Should be different, not grabbing.

And never write to the list before you are fully awake.       Doyt
