clutch pedal odd behavior

My clutch pedal did the same thing a month or so ago. After the car
sat for a couple of hours, leaving a small puddle of fluid, it
mysteriously started working again. I believe that the clutch hose
was beginning to fail internally, as it seeped a little at the slave
cylinder end. So, it may be the hose collapsing internally, which
would prevent the fluid from flowing back to the master cylinder. I
haven't replaced my hose yet, but it's been cold outside, and the
problem occurred after a long drive. So, I'd say check your clutch
hose, as well as the fluid level in the reservoir.
