I just had my middle muffler removed from my 1990 CQ.....what a beautiful sound it is!

Hi AA and AaaBruuuummmmm....

There must be something wrong in Your CQ if it´s 20V and You didn´t
notice any torque losses at 4krpm after removing that muffler, it really
is a resonator and works at torq peak area. I tried that and also air intake
modifications to prove something ( not to do this ) last summer. 

CQs´ 2,25" pipe is enough to handle all that lousy 170Hp, but that
resonator gives a slight peak. 

(At this power rating all those aftermarket things; chip/cat back muffler/
intake fooling is just the waste of money, crap -for You, not the dealer)


The sound at that mod was quite nice when idling, but under the load
it was disturbing and terrible, open Your window once when You load 
( not only rev ) the engine.

Well this reminds me the old days, as I still race with dirt bikes ( only
on the old farts´, over 30 classes ) When we started at 12 yrs old, we
took all silencers off, yeah what a speed....Just a metal saw and You 
have a fast...
