Hakka 1 or not Hakka 1

It really all depends upon whether you truly need them or not. I just
bought a set of Hakka 10's studded because I had the good luck of finding a
set that was hardly used. I put this on my Subaru (please, no flames).
It's the first time I've owned the legendary Hakka's. I've had studded
Gislaveds and many other snow tires and the Hakka's are the best so far.
I'm in north central Mass but do winter rallying, so I like studded tires.
However, I don't have them on my 4ksq because with awd, you really don't
need them.
The 10's are pretty noisy at highway speed. The 1's are using the eco
studding system which is supposedly very quiet. All I can say, is that if
you drive on lots of ice or do a lot of around town winter driving, get the
studs, they really are a benefit. If you commute 50 miles each way to work
at highway speeds, don't get them.

Me thinks I'm gonna buy Hakka 1. I'd like to know -- from ye who got
studded Hakka 1's -- how are you living with it on good (winter) days when
there ain't snow to soften the supposid noise of studs hitting the tarmac?
Does it get to you? At highway speeds?
