Most people just drill holes in the licence plate and attach it directly to
the car with screws. Over here we've got "temporary" plates, when you
register your car you get them for two weeks while the DMV checks if there
are any legal issues with your car. Then you return them and they are
passed to the next person who drills another set of holes to fit his/her
car. Ever seen a licence plate with 30 holes in it? :-)
You can buy a plastic mounting frame, just like the ones on your pictures,
only fitting European plates. Costs pennies.
