4kq short shift kit potential problems?

I was looking at getting Blau's short shift kit for my 4kq (see link at
bottom of email), but when I talked to my mechanic today he strongly advised
me against any short shift kits.  He said that it will most likely damage
the syncros since it's making the linkage move so much faster.  He said he
saw this happen a lot on Porsches.  What do you guys think?  Any
experiences?  Thanks.
