If you remove the two bolts that hold the strut housing to the bearing
carrier you will be messing with the alignment (camber). You may be able to
scribe the position so you can re-install extremely close and not need an
alignment.
The other thing is that the new strut bearing is bound to be "taller" than
the old worn out one, thus also affecting alignment.

You should have the two piece strut housing - so sort of yes and sort of
no.
You won't have to mess up the alignment and you won't have to fight with
the brakes.
undo the nut on the top of the strut, undo and pop the tie rod off, and
undo the two big bolts holding the two pieces of the strut together and
the part with the spring and cartridge, and top mount of course, is now
separated from the car.
You'll need to compress the springs to remove the mount.
Don't forget to replace the four locknuts (per strut) you remove with
new ones.
