Dad's car is on the fritz.  Car idles ~400rpm and will die if gas is fed =
to it.  If I put my hand inside the air box and lift the plate at the =
same rate as I feed gas, all is well.  The boot is brand new and well =
seated.



You didn't mess around with any fuses, did you?
Sounds like the symptoms of the CIS fuse gone or blown.
