Autozine's car ratings

Just stumbled upon onto Autozine's site
(http://home.netvigator.com/~europa/index.html). This site contains a
wealth of car, car maker and technology information, and I had a great
time going through it. However, it is no longer active (as of last
July), i.e. it doesn't publish anymore issues.

I've noticed that the site comes somewhat hard on Audis in comparison,
say, to BMWs. Perhaps that would be because of an emphasis on car
performance and driving fun, for which car enthusiasts generally favor
the BMW's RWD and very responsive steering feel over other car makers'
sedans. The A4 V6 ends up with a 3-star rating whereas the 323i and 330i
get 5 and 6-star ratings respectively

Anyone care to comment on that? I'm not looking for a war between Audi
and BMW brands (anyway, on this site Audi would win!) but some
constructive feedback on what makes Audi and BMW what they are, what
advantages BMW has over Audi (3-series vs A4/S4, or 5-series vs A6/S6,
say), and vice-versa.

Being relatively new to the Audifans lists (last August), I'm not sure
how 'a propos' this topic of discussion is. Anyway, just curious to find
out...
