9x15 Sport wheels are ET12, normal Ur-q 8x15 are ET24, 6x15 are ET45.
Unless I've got my calculations wrong that means that the inside edge of the
8" is just over 4mm closer to the strut than the 6", while the 9" sits just
less than 1mm closer than the 8".
Perhaps the problem is that the tyre sidewall is too close, 215 tyre on an
8" rim has a very little gap between it and the strut.
If I was going to do this, I'd offer up a wheel and wing it from there.
