Check for vacuum leaks in the intake tract, post throttle valve where
any leaks would be unmetered.  Look at the big rubber boot that goes
from the throttle valve into the intake manifold, and all the hoses
attached to it, as well as those that go directly into the intake manifold.
This would be a good first step.
