Automatic Transmission Kickdown

Kickdown is controlled by the throttle cables on these cars. There is
no "button" like in the CGT or my sister's 5ks. My 80 has a throttle cable
that went down to the transmission, that controlled the kickdown. Plus
there is a microswitch, but I have yet to figure out what that did. It
doesn't connect to the fuel system for WOT, that is controlled by the same
WOT switch as the manual cars. Anyone know what that extra microswitch did?
As for kickdown not working. Possibly the cables slipped? Hopefully
nothing to do with the trans itself, but don't rule it out. The arm
controlled by the throttle cable may not be actuating something inside the
valve body.

Cheers!
