Tiptronic for stick drivers?

I've driven a Tip A8 4.2q for a bit, and found that (like most reviewers
seem to notice) the Tip doesn't invite shifting. "The auto mode is perfect,
why bother?" seems to be the general opinion. If you like shifting, get a
manual.
With the 4.2, it wasn't sluggish at all. I compared it to a FWD 2.8 slush
A8, which I hated (too little power, slow slushbox).
