Ok,
Here goes the easier version:
High pressure sodium lights are orange (typical street lamp)
Low pressure sodium are yellow/orange. ( large factories use these)
The bluish ( Older) HID lights are Mercury Vapor,
The Newer whitest of the bunch are Metal Halide.
Metal Halide lights are still sometimes confused with Mercury Vapor, but are
whiter and much more efficient, and render colors much better.

Maybe I'm color blind. I can't remember where I heard it called
that. (Coughing up foot) Must've been at the local tuners emporium. I
should know what color the sodium bulbs really are, but don't know why I
remember them being blue. Maybe I'm thinking of another chemical. Helium?
Or is that red?
