No ATF pressure, Baffling Autobox Problem

    Well the fellow I'm trying to help had all the CV's checked and found
they were all intact.  The shop did a pressure check and noted there was no
ATF pressure at all.  So he's got a rebuilt trans, new torque converter, new
pump shaft, but the ATF pump is the only part he didn't replace because he
couldn't get one in Hawaii.  What could cause a no pressure situation
besides a busted pump or a disengaged pump shaft?
