i bought a set of eurolights (from metrix) and ready made harness/relay setup
(from Blau) for my '86 5kT. when all said and done it was like $800 for
everything (incl shipping).
while i am nearsighted, wear glasses, and have terrible night vision, i still
couldnt justify spending almost $1000 just on headlights for my 15 year old
audi.
I just put a set of Bosch high powered driving lights under the bumper, w/
100w bulbs, and rigged them up to come on independant of the high beams. so
now i drive with my hi-beams on all the time and my driving lights, (which
are brighter than the hi-beams, of course) and i have tons more light than
before..all for just about under $100.
just something to think about..
