Peter,

I found that the '91 200q w/ Bose uses the same connectors as
the non-Bose radio, I think. It looks like an 8 or 10 pin connector,
I would have to look at some plug-in harnesses to see exactly which
one would work, but I have a hunch that it is the same as the VWs.

That's all you really need to tap into the factory wiring for the
power, ground, etc. in order to avoid tapping the actual factory
wiring harness.

In case it wasn't clear- I scrapped the whole Bose system for an
aftermarket one- new speakers front and rear, outboard amp and
new headunit, ran new wiring for the whole thing. We'll see how it
turns out- right now, I am getting no sound, and due to the snow, I
haven't had the time to go outside and check all of the fuses and
check the amp preamp inputs to see if they're working properly.
