wondering if there are any detailed instructions on this procedure. I check

diagrams, but does not appear to detail all of the preceding steps to

concise list of what needs to be removed and how-to's.

Big job - 4+ hours in warm weather and a box of band-aid's. Go to
http://www.audifans.com do an archival google search. Bet there's at least 50
or so posts detailing the procedure. If you can't find one, e-mail me and I'll
send you one after new years. If you decide this is something you do not want
to do I'll give you the names of a couple of places (near TO) you can get a
quote from. Also are you planning to rebuild your rack...there is a shop in
K-W (Acer) that specializes in rebuilding racks for german vehicles.
Reasonably priced excellent workmanship and quick turn-around. Niagara
Imports in St. Catherines does good work as well and they specialize in older
Audi's.
