_Really_ mad idea!

Hi there!
You all know I am a bit sick when it comes to taste: just one word:
Treser!
Over the last year, one thought crossed my mind continously.
Let me add a bit of story around it.
I drive a normal aspirated "fivebanger" in my '90 Audi 100 Sport.
Were you ever driving for some miles on the streets and suddenly realizing
you had your radio and CD still "off", only listening to the engine? Ever
drove in a narrow hallway, lowering the window(s) and accelerating?
Yes?
Well, then you have about 50% of what it takes to find my idea (which I am
sure some others had as well) worth a thought:
A few days ago, someone in our German forum brought it up:
Why not use a microphone, for example in the airbox, and get that sound in
your stereo-radio?
As I am by no means a HiFi expert, I wondered what would be necessary?!
A mircophone? Sure, but which one? A solo part (like for soldering) or a
whole handheld unit? Which kind of amplifier? And how do I connect it to my
radio? I still have the CD input unused, could I use that?
Would it be possible to use two mono microphones, on in the airbox, on
getting the exhaust sound, to create real stereo?
I hope this has enough Audi-content, and am awaiting your opinions.
TIA
Jens
