The first question that comes to my mind is WHY? What benefit would there
be in doing so? The AudiWorld has their own analogous functions to
everything that is in the Audifans. If for some reason it were to happen, I
wouldn't be surprised if a new audifans-like forum started somewhere else.
I commend the folks at what is now AudiWorld, they did a great job of
building and promoting a site ... timed almost perfectly with the resurgence
of Audi in the US marketplace. I believe that JET and probably others have
profited considerably as a result. To my mind there is no motivation to
consolidate ... there are and always will be sites devoted to Audi and Audi
fans in addition to both AudiWorld and the Audifans ...

Frankly, I prefer the mailman/majordomo/listserv/etc. model to that of a
web-based forum. Since every post is delivered to me as an e-mail I can
choose to save all posts I consider useful in my own archives for later
reference. It does seem to me the change to receiving the list at home
rather than at work makes it a bit difficult to keep up ... but I am getting
more work done!

BTW, there were some comments about the non-commercial nature of this list.
I think everyone here should know that this has been possible due to the
fact that the listmeister has been footing the bil to the tune of a couple
hundred $ per month I believe. It seems clear to me that situation can't
last forever ... unless Dan wins the lottery or something!
