Help, engine quit!

My fiance was driving the 90q20v (7A engine) home the other day when the
engine just stoped. I went out there to give it a quick check over.

Situation:
Engine cranks fine
Can hear fuel pump
Smell unburnt gas (so, expect ignition problem)
Can see cam move when engine cranked

Given the above, I suspected ignition problem, so I pulled a plug and
held it to the intake manifold (for ground) by the leed. No spark
observed.

Took of distributor cap, cranked engine, rotor didn't apear to have
moved. Of course, this was just the gods playing with me, as I did it
again, and this time it was in a different position.

Checked coil-distributor cap wire with DMM, got about 2k Ohms, which I
_think_ sounds right.

Pulled codes, got nothing but a bad O2 sensor, which I already knew (got
it on order).

I sent this to the 20v list, but haven't gotten much help. Sadly, I do
not yet have a Bently for this car, so I don't know what to check next.
Any suggestions would be great, particularly those directing me how to
check the ignition system. How do you check for a bad coil, anyway?

Any help would be very much appreciated, there isn't a mechanic within
200 miles I would trust with a 7A engine.

Thanks,
Erik
