... some cars (like I found in my '83 QTC) came with an adjustable spring
perch in the cap of the WG ... if you have such a setup it could be used to
tweak the "bar" of a spring.  If you pull the cap on the WG (usually pretty
easy ... 6 nuts and its off) you can see that it should be possible to
adjust the preload on the spring by adding thin washers as shims.  From the
MC WG caps I've seen it should be pretty easy to increase the preload on the
spring (i.e. make the "bar" higher) but it might be a bit more difficult to
decrease the value.  It also seemed to me that even the MC cap should be
able to be made adjustable without too much effort.

What does the bar number actually mean?  I assume that it is the max boost
value that you would expect to see with the spring installed.  If you had a
car with a WGFV, is that boost value obtained with the WGFV operating or
disconnected?  You may be able to get that extra 0.1 bar with a "Schrapnell
Knobben" apparatus.
