Kind of like what used to go on in the early days of computer components.
 Vendors would sell motherboards with 386DX chips (state of the art at
the time), bios info etc. would all indicate this chiip present, then a
year or two later when you went to update the MB, you'd pull the glued
heat sink off and find chip marked 386SX(with bottom of the line mhz.)
