only getting 1.7 bar of boost

    Tim, the Audi elec. boost gauge reads in absolute pressure, so it is also 
including atmospheric pressure of 14.7 psi, what you migh consider 0 psi.  
Your dash gauge, however, is reading only the pressure above atmoshphere.  
So, 1 bar = 14.7  , you dash gauge is correnct in reading 12 psi because .7 * 
14.7psi = 12.29psi.  Sounds like you are getting some good boost out of the 
stock programming too, I would say everything is normal.
