I have a problem with the front brakes on my 5ktq.

The limited experience I have of master cylinders say that the seal is not
attached to the piston, it is only pushed forward by the piston and then
pushed back by the pressure in the brake system and the vaccum between the
seal and the piston. If the bore is scared or damaged by rust the seal can
block the passage, a swollen seal can also cause adjustment problems. I
don't know if this is the way this mc is built.
