... fortunately the European manufacturers may be seeing things a bit
differently ... or at least are testing the waters ...

Here in the USA the A6 2.7T is available with a 6-speed, as is the new MBz
C-class (albeit in the "low end" version).  I can say that such developments
have the wife and I talking about new cars ... keep in mind the only "new"
car I ever bought was my 1978 Audi Fox!  ;)  I do hope that things are
different than they were in the early '90s where cars like the 5-speed V8Q
came and went without much sales even with a lot of press on them ...
