I found the earlier comments on the hakka Q vs. the hakka 1 interesting.
Nokian sent me a pack of test results last year from several european
magazines that showed the hakka q being very good on ice (not quite as good
as the studded hakka 1) and excellent on snow (better than the hakka 1). The
Q has a lower road noise level than the 1.

5 of the 7 magazine articles had a quote to the effect that the hakka q was
"the best friction snow tire ever made." And of course, studs are illegal in
a lot of areas.

If anyone is curious, the choice of 4 of the 5 nordic magazines for the best
studded tire was the Gislaved Nord-Frost II. The hakka 1 was generally
second. Interestingly, the Blizzak nearly always wins the traction on ice
tests, but does so poorly in handling, snow, and slush tests that it rarely
wins high ratings (in the nordic press).
