'Das Audi Coupe Buch' by Van Hamme states that there was never a CGT with
anything but a petrol NA engine, no (turbo) diesels. There were 4-cyl
versions (1781 cc) and five-cylinders but nothing else.
The new Coupe, introduced in Europe in 1988, eventually came with the 20v
turbo in the S2 model. A diesel was never offered.
A CGT turbo in Germany would be homebrew, too.
