I will second Phil's response. This happened to my Opel Manta GTE. Cleaned
out the crankcase breather system and no more escaping dip stick + the car
ran so much better than before. The most unbelievable amount of $hit was
blocking the gauze and pipe coming off the side of the engine.
LOTS of room in the engine bay of a Manta, the I5 turbo would look good in
there coupled to the standard Getrag gearbox (syncromesh on reverse too !!!)
