Q-lister's,
Well after 2 years of ownership I have experienced my first electrical
problem. Went to roll down all the windows in my 5000 today and all of them
except the rear drivers side would go down..."thats weird" I thought..."I
wonder if the back window switch will work?" Well it worked to roll the
window down but it will not roll the window up...great. So there I was stuck
with a window down all day and it's supposed to rain tonight. Stopped into
my local car mechanic(Holland Imports)and they said I could get the window
up by using a "jumper wire." So armed with that information I left and
decided to stop at the local boneyard and stock up on some window
switches...pulled off the door panel and checked the wiring...looks good.
Also checked the wiring in the door hinge area...looked good also. Tried
interchanging the used switches I got at the boneyard but they didnt work
either...so I looked around for some spare wire and could'nt find any so
back to the mechanics...they had everything sorted out in a few seconds and
got the window up using the "jumper wire" technique...so at least I have the
window up now...question is: where could the problem be? Mechanic thinks
it's a bad window switch in the front and I tend to agree with him...only
I'm wondering why this would affect the operation of the back switch?
remember the back switch works only to bring the window down...it wont roll
it up...and the front switch wont work at all for that window...hope you
understand all this! Any ideas? I'm thinking of going to the junkyard again
and getting one of those drivers side quad window switch control panels and
intercahnging pieces and seeing if that makes a difference...am I on the
right track?

Thanks,
Stephen Ankney
