REV LIMIT 5ktq

I was given a broken ignition unit from a 5k today.  THis is the box
located in the drivers side kick panel.  I popped it open and was
wondering if the electrical engineer type could tell me what controls the
rev limit, and how to change it.  

This is merely hypothetical for now.  My car doesn't need to rev any
higher for two reasons.  One the stock cam flattens out at 5000
anyway.  Two, more rpm would create a lean situation at 15psi.

This is for a MAC 11 engine.
