Cool Audi sightings (pretty long)

Hi there!
I feel the need to share my morning experience with you.
A) I saw a white Audi 100 C4 with those straight spoke rims like the
urquattro has. Greyish colour, presumeably winter tires on 6x15 of the Audi
100/200 Type44. Looked pretty cool, although there is a huge difference in age
between car and rims.
B) Now, this was much more important/great.
Driving on the Autobahn A3 heading south to university. I suddenly
realized that a Type44 had overtaken me in relatively dense traffic. When I looked
closer (it was some meters away when I realized it) it appeared to have red
taillights. It somehow looked wider and meaner than a standard 100 but
slimmer than a V8. A Sport? When I caught up, YES! it was a Sport!! Immaculate
greyish metallic paint, red taillights and FWD, like mine (pretty rare, you
know). So I overtook him till we were equal height. I drove as fast as him
(sadly no girl driving the car) and look to him. After some time he realized
and I waved my hand and smiled. He definitely looked puzzled! Then I pulled
away and overtook some trucks and slowed down a bit where there is the
departure to the A67. Two headlights coming nearer and nearer. Yep, him again, he
drove beside me and smiled, me too. Then we both accelerated and drove in
tandem (NO, NOT Nascar-style!) some 10km or so, before he had to leave the
Autobahn. When he decelerated, I once again overtook him and we both waved your
hands goodbye.
GREAT! Two so rare cars, two young guys, just met out of nowhere.
OK, so my Friday really started fine! No, make that excellent, fabulous,
unbelievable. Yes, that's the word! :)
BTW: My "blind date" (only had exchanged electronic messages before) with
a female V8 4.2 driver turned out pretty cool last Suturday. No, we are not
in love, but she is a really nice girl and I had to drive her home (some
150km), as her V8 lost its powersteering/brake pressure pump. Are you getting
envious yet?
Well, then I should not tell you that she gave me not only the new "Rad
der Zeit" book of Audi but also some otherwise rare Audi brochures...
:)

PS: @ PerL: I will come back to the quattro thing, will have to do a bit
of research when I am at home. But I am very sure there was a 4x108 Type44
quattro.
