Adjustable wastegate adjustment

I was able today to modify my spare wastegate cap to take a bolt. I just 
removed the cap from my URQ, and found a slightly different spring perch, and 
a very different spring. The spare spring has green dots on it and is much 
thinner (weaker) than the spring from the URQ. The URQ spring has black dots 
on it.
How much more tension can I put on the spring? How much more is effective 
without being too much? Is there such a thing as too much?
Any help greatly appreciated.
This mod was _very_ easy. Can something this easy really be that effective? I 
thought effectiveness was directly proportional to difficulty and expense. If 
anyone wants one modified, I might be talked into doing it for them.
