The Fuel Line out of the fuel accumulator rotted through yesterday. I tried
to find a replacement part at a few of my usual mail order places to find
out it is a dealer only part. I called the dealer, $167.00, not in stock
and it is not an exact fit since the original part is discontinued and the
whole hard-line to accumulator needs to be replaced.
I ended up getting a new brass ball/barb fitting for a local industrial
hardware shop that is not an exact fit but works without leaking. I
replaced the plastic fuel line also since the old one was too short for the
new fitting. The rear line and fitting is in bad shape also, but is not
leaking yet. Does anyone know where I can get replacement fittings for the
accumulator lines?
A buddy of mine bypassed the accumulator completely to solve his problem
about a year ago with no ill effects. Is it okay to run without the
accumulator? What does it do exactly?
Thanks
Jack
