Smoke screen ('87 5TQ)

Here's an odd one:  replaced the valve cover gasket on Sunday ('87 5TQ), and
now, after the car is warm, it belches tons of bluish smoke from the exhaust
and the oil dipstick won't stay 'in.'  Side note: the infamous crankcase
ventilation hose is completely collapsed, but it was that way prior to the
valve cover swap and the smoking problem.

So what in the hell did I mess-up when I replaced the VC gasket?
