I believe for the type 44 car the Torsen began for the 1989 model year
(when the designation changed to 100/200).  If your car has a dual
position knob for center and rear differential locks, then it *doesn't*
have Torsen.  Pre-96 Torsen cars have only a single pushbutton for the
rear diff lock.  Post-96 models went with Torsen and EDL so there is no
longer any manual controls.
