HELP V8 Quattro

I keep hearing about gas tanks needing replacement. The only car I've ever
done that to was a '65 MGB...35 yrs old. Why are these young Audi's falling
victim? Is it only certain models? What can be done to prevent failure? Gas
tanks are real expensive, and I'd hate to try a used one if needed. You
never know what you get when it's used...Thanks.
