Actually, $650 for a new tank is downright reasonable. Shoot, Nissan 
wants as much for a tank for a 280Z, and it's a very simple tank. I'd 
be willing to bet that the V8 tank is about as complex as the 5k 
tank, and that's a very complex tank. Lots of baffles, curves, 
cutouts, sealant on the inside (although it turns out it doesn't 
stick so good) and lots of other fancy features.
