troubleshooting guide?

Hello the camp,

Does anyone know of a troubleshooting guide for modern engines? 
Ideally, Audi mills should be the focus, but a generalist-type
book would be fine too.  To tell you the truth, I have no
friggin' idea what makes the A4 go.  Suppose it starts coughing
and sputtering 2 days after the warranty runs out?  I'd be as
helpless as your mother-in-law.

Now, the 30 year-old Triumph is a piece of cake....
