new water pump whistling

Hi list.

I changed timing belt, all other belts, cam and crank seals,  idler
pulley,   water pump and lifters today.   Terrible noise from lifters
disappeared! But now I hear  whistle  from water pump.  How I know that
is water pump?  I changed tension of the timing belt and when I make it
higher whistle becomes more intensive. Lower tension - less intensive
whistling.
I also used stetoscope.
I thought that the grease is laid not evenly (new pump) but after
driving 2 hours whistle stays.  I did not hear such noise before, but
old lifters were so loud that I am not sure now.

Anybody had somthing similar?  I bought pump from Parts Connection, new,
$44.

I will appreciate your input.
