fuel distribution questions-(MC-1+2)

During the process of replacing the fuel lines with
rusted ends, I noticed a difference between early and
later MC engines in the area of the fuel distributor.
The later ones added an external pressure regulator in
the line between the frequency valve and the pressure
damper. Where was the pressure regulator previously?
In the metering head? Were there any other
significant changes to fuel distribution? Is the
total amount of fuel flow available about the same?
Could I use the MC-1 fuel distribution parts on my
MC-2, at least temporarily? It appears that if I swap
the metering head, pressure damper, frequency valve,
and their related hoses and mounts as a unit, I should
be able to retain all functionality. Anyone have any
comments. I already have clean, rustfree components
from an MC-1 that are in know working order.
Thanks for the input
