I'm far from an expert as I take pictures of 'em, don't drive 'em
but...I have heard it said in racing circles:

Oversteer = hit the wall with the rear of the car
Understeer = hit the wall with the front of the car

Of course this is somewhat tongue in cheek ;-)

(Had to get some humor in between the UK vs US political and sports
discussions...)
