It's your opinion, so I can't say anything about that, but let me chime
in w/ mine.

I don't see how you can't consider a 914, 944 or a Boxster (note spelling)
as true Porsches. The 914 is a great-handling car and is rather
underappreciated
by many. The 944 (esp. as a 951) is an awesome track car and is all in all a
really nice car. Have you even taken a ride in a 944? Even the 8v 944 is a
pretty
nice-handling car (a friend of mine had a really bad example of one and it
still
handled really well). Slow, but IMHO, a nice 944 is nicer than a Miata.

The Boxster is a really beautiful car, reminiscent of the 550 Spyder and in
S form,
a really nice car. Even the 2.7 Boxster is a really good car. I can't think
of a
better $45-55k sports car, unless you're talking used. A mint condition,
slightly
modified '89 951S would be my pick for a sports car under $50k, unless I
could find
a 993 in that price range. The 951S will run circles around lots of more
expensive
cars, although the turbo lag will make it less fun as a daily driver than,
say, an
M3.

Anyway, I've digressed enough from Audis.

Where's the Audi content? IMHO, the 924 is a POS. Audi engined ugly looking
thing.

IMHO, I think the 928's are some of the best Porsche's. The only ones I'd
refer to as not "real" is the 914, 924, 944, and Boxter. But that's only my
opinion. I'm actually looking on the side for a 928s or 928s4. I've driven
a 928 s4, a 911, and several 914s, and the 928 is my pick.
