The US-bound S8s all have Tiptronic, hence the slower acceleration.
A proper 6-speed manual Euro S8 can do 0-62mph in 5.4 seconds,
this is quicker than either the S4 or A6 2.7T in 6-speed guises.
Now a big sedan like an S8 with that kind of performance is not something
to sneer at!
