Well, I can tell you of an inexpensive home-brew
puller. I used a large u-shaped bracket (actually it
originally held the rear sway bar in place on my
Bronco), drilled a hole in the center of it for the
threaded rod of a steering wheel puller to go thru. I
drilled a hole in each end of the u-bracket to anchor
it w/some smaller bolts thru the holes where the lug
studs would normally be.
Anyway, I can't accurately describe it but if you
buy one of the cheap $4 steering wheel pullers and get
a little creative I bet you can make it work, worked
great for me!
Or any 3 jaw gear puller should work and can be
rented at many parts houses (autozone).
