Stiffer Wastegate Spring

Have you thought about modifying the top of your wastegate to apply increased 
pressure to your existing spring? You probably have, but I thought I'd ask.
I just did this to my car, and cannot begin to express the difference it made 
in the cars drivability (read low end torque & more linear power) . I appeal 
to list wisdom as to the benefits of a specific spring versus adjustable 
wastegate cap.
I'm thinking maybe you're looking for a definite (specified) amount of boost? 
I experimented by turning the screw down (and enriching the mixture) till the 
duty cycle & drivability were optimum. A chip would allow me more boost, but 
for now, it cost me less than $4.00 for a bolt to lock the screw in position, 
and the resulting increase in performance is amazing.
If you want to modify the wastegate cap, let me know. It's easy and 
reversible. You can go back to stock in about 2 minutes.
