Stiffer Wastegate Spring

Hi Greg,
I think the easiest and cheapest route would be tapping and installing the
fine thread bolt into your WG. If you do that, you won't need a new spring.
I never replaced mine, just tightened the old one. This "mod" will certainly
improve your low RPM performance, but you'd have to watch the boost gauge or
you could get this nasty FP cut-off in a most inappropriate time. This is
not a pleasant feeling, believe me, feels like hitting a brick wall. I
experienced it several times when my diaphragm in WG was torn. I drive my
modded car in the city 95% of the time and since reaching 1.8Bar happens
only in the third gear at about 55-60mph on a level road, I can't experience
it very often. However, car feels so much better below 3,000 where it really
counts. Getting off the stop light is a sheer pleasure, no need to drop the
clutch anymore to get ahead of the next guy. I enjoy my 25 min of drive to
work every day. I have to pay for it at the gas pump though because I have
to use 94 octane gas only and I consume more of it per mile than before
(about 16MPG in city compared to 20MPG before the mod), but it worth every
penny.
